Remote Learning
We use a combination of the following approaches to teach pupils remotely:
- Live teaching (online lessons/Zoom)
- Electronic learning packs produced by teachers on DB Primary
- Printed paper packs produced by teachers (e.g. workbooks, worksheets)
- Reading books that pupils have at home and the Rising Stars online library
- Websites supporting the teaching of specific subjects or areas, including video clips or sequences (eg BBC Bitesize)
- Recorded teaching (e.g. Oak National Academy lessons)
- Long-term project work and/or internet research activities
Remote Learning and SEND - We are committed to ensuring that pupils with SEND are able to successfully access remote learning work along with their peers. We work collaboratively with families, putting in place individual adjustments and support where we can so that this can be achieved.

DB Primary
DB Primary is our school Virtual Learning Platform and is well used both in and out of school.
Children can:
- Send and receive emails, create blogs and contribute to forums.
- Access a range of educational, curriculum linked games in the the Learning Library.
- Access remote learning activities set by teachers.
- Upload work and homework.
- Access a range of wellbeing, e-safety and fun activities through their class community pages.
E-Safety on DB Primary - if children see anything online that they are worried about or experience anything online that makes them feel uncomfortable or unsafe, they can 'blow the whistle' and this will alert a member of staff who will follow it up with them.
Children will also find lots of activities and information about E-Safety on their DB Primary class community pages.

E-Safety at home and school
Thinkuknow is the education programme from CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection), a UK organisation which protects children both online and offline. They have published a series of short home learning activities for families and for different age ranges, coving topics such as sharing information, pictures and videos, social media and online bullying.
You will also find information about what to do if you are concerned about your child and how to get help if you need it.
