Collective Worship

At Christ Church School, we engage in an act of Collective Worship every day.  This is an opportunity for us all to come together and share in prayer, readings, reflection and song, whether from a Christian faith background, another faith background, or no faith background at all.  Once a week our Collective Worship is lead by the Christ Church Team.  Children take a very active role in leading and participating in Collective Worship, alongside the Christ Church Team and teachers, helping them to develop their understanding of the stories in the Bible stories and how they relate to their own lives and beliefs.

We know that Collective Worship has the potential to unite the whole membership of the school and develop a sense of community.  It is an essential part of our vision of 'Life in all its fullness' (John 10:10).

In Collective Worship we get time to reflect, be still and listen to the music. It helps me to feel calm - Child in KS2

Prayer

Prayer is a very important part of our day at Christ Church School.  For some children it plays an important part in strengthening their relationship with God.  For others it provides them with a calm, peaceful space to reflect and be still.  Our new prayer space provides an additional space for individual reflection and prayer and is full of resources such as the Bible, books and tactile objects.
